2025 Notice of Municipal Election

SMITHFIELD CITY

2025 NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION

Smithfield City will hold its Municipal Election this fall to elect two (2) Council Members and a Mayor.

Smithfield City elections are non-partisan.

The incumbents are:


Mayor:                     Kris Monson

Council Member:  Wade Campbell

Council Member:  Sue Hyer


Four (4) year terms will be served by the two (2) Council Members and the Mayor.  All are elected at-large.

Prior to filing a declaration of candidacy for election to any office, an individual shall:

  1. be a United States citizen at the time of filing;
  2. be a registered voter of Smithfield City;
  3. be at least 18 years old;
  4. be a resident of Smithfield City for at least 365 days immediately preceding the date of the of the general election, November 4, 2025; and
  5. not be a convicted felon. 

The declaration of candidacy filing period will commence on Monday, June 2, 2025, and conclude on Friday, June 6, 2025. Individuals may file in person to the City Recorder at the Smithfield City Office, located at 96 South Main, Smithfield, Utah. Filings will be accepted during regular business hours, with a final submission deadline of 5:00 PM on Monday, June 6, 2025. The required filing form is available at the City Recorder's Office. There is a $50 fee associated with filing.

The Primary Election date is Tuesday, August 12, 2025; if so required.

The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
